I took this a while ago (3rd April) from the Newport Wetlands coastal path and didn't share it at the time because it's not good enough for a 'specimen shot' (and didn't know about this forum dedicated to identification at the time )
It's not the best but hopefully enough there for an I.D. Any offers?
Thanks in advance as always.
Curlew I wouldve thought
my first thought was curlew too. I've looked at the enlarged picture and not so sure as I can't make out the beak but still wouldn't rule curlew out
99% Curlew or Whimbrel

Excellent! Thanks for the super-fast response. I did make a couple of videos around the time of Curlews feeding down on the mud-flats, so it makes sense that they would be flying down there!
