Can anyone help me identify this bird? Seen this October in Ibiza

Hello everone, thanks for the welcome and the answer to my query.

I think you have all agreed it is a "Black-crowned Night Heron".

Was I lucky to see this bird? I have never even heard of one before.

The Balearic Islands are doing a lot for conservation, I saw a Hoopo in Mallorca last year, but couldn't get my camera out quick enough before it flew off.
