I visited RSPB Marshside on Friday last week, inbetween all the recent wind and rain ,it was quite nice and with some blue sky. The marsh was stuffed full of birds, but on my way home whilst driving down the coastal road the bird below caught my eye flying over the estuary side of the road, I followed until it settled by a small pool, and managed a photo at great distance and heavily cropped. Forgive the blurred flight photo, not easy from a moving car! I am unsure but i am hoping it is a Great White Egret, anyone help? Thanks Gary

Little egret I'd say as he has a black beak & yellow feet. The great white has a yellow beak & black feet! Nice spot!

I was about to say exactly the same, the other thing is the size, if you can imagine a grey heron - A Great White is slightly larger and the Little slightly smaller.

Hi Gary, MarJus is spot on. If you need conformation go to my page and link to flickr site, In the Leighton Moss RSPB set there is a very long shot of Great W Egrets, and even from a distance the beak stands out!
John :-)
For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
Hi John
Hope you do not mind that I have a look too on the flickr site
