2 of these were seen yesterday 17/10/24 at about 17.30 near the upper Medway in East Sussex , light had nearly gone and they were quite a distance away hence the poor pictures. They were on very muddy fields that had been flooded the week before. They were hanging around near 3-4 buzzards and and a couple of herons who seemed to be pulling worms out of the flooded soil. They were the size of buzzards. Thanks for any help. Chris
They are pale morph Common Buzzards. Buzzards come in all sorts of colours, some are even paler than the ones in your photos. Rough Legged Buzzard could have been possible, given the location and time of year, but, as the name suggests, these have feathers down to the feet, which your birds don't.
