Hi
New to the forum, but hoping someone out there can help me identify this bird. Sat on our windowsill in West Yorkshire drying out after enjoying a morning of typical Yorkshire Weather.
Thanks
Is it a young red-legged partridge?
Brilliant thank you. Now wondering why it is at the front of the house when the pear tree is at the back.
Guess I’ll never know.
Oops, just saw the question mark. Teach me to try reading stuff without my glasses on. I didn’t even know red-legged partridge existed before your note, and it does seem to have red legs
Yes indeed, a Red-legged Partridge, poor wee soul
As you say. Poor wee soul. Sat there for quite a while until it was dried out and then pooped all over the window sill and headed off.
they visit our garden now and again, leave a right mess but they're hilarious to watch, like something from Monty Python
