hi can anyone please help identify this bird? This was close to the sea on the west side of Scotland, this bird seemed to scare crows away and made the crows look tiny. I’m really interested to find out what it is but I apologise that it is not the best video quality. Thank you for your help in advance
Hi Fran, difficult to say from the video but there are a number of Ospreys around at this time of year. I could definitely see the bird was much paler on the underside but difficult to see much more, I'm afraid.
Hi there thank you so much! Yes it did have white underneath so would fit with Osprey magnificent to see!
Default Scottish BOP is buzzard.
Definitely not an osprey. The underwing flashes of white are interesting, but buzzard is the most obvious and certainly flying like one.
Hi thank you for this, in my opinion it was much bigger than a buzzard. I may have to go back and try to get a better image :)
It isn't a white tailed eagle. The only other option is golden eagle. Not getting eagle proportions from the video, but West Coast of Scotland is a poss location and white underwing slabs sort of support it. Like I say though, I'd have said buzzard.
Any more photos or videos would certainly help
Just played again with headphones on. Even sounds like a buzzard.
