I’m an American in the UK- having trouble identifying this bird; pictures taken on May 30, Rathlin Island by the harbor. high hedges behind us! Wondering if it’s an immature bird- can’t find a match to the coloring/bars.

Adult female Chaffinch. I seriously doubt whether its a young one as there is no signs of the remains of the gape flange at the base of the bill.
