Hi
Ive sadly come across the above eggs on my lawn. Can anybody tell me what bird they belong to? And also what is likely to be the culprit of raiding the nest? Or reason for them being there. Thank you
I am no expert but found this online scroll, certainly looks like pigeon

Have you had strong wind? and whole nest came down and material blown away? Pigeons normally affected by crows , magpies etc.but surprised if that with Four eggs.
hope one of our more knowledgeable posters will arrive soon.
there appears to be no damage to the eggs? Isn't there a bush or anything else overhanging where the eggs were found? Pigeons don't lay 4 eggs, so unlikely. Makes no sense for a predator to remove eggs as a collection. A person wouldn't have done it?
we have pigeons/Robins/tits/blackbirds that nest every year but I’ve never seen those eggs before.
they’re smaller than pigeon eggs , I should’ve said. I had a look around for the nest but couldn’t see anything. thank you
Are they damaged at all, or are they as the photo suggests, undamaged?
Completely undamaged

Good Job Stealthybnts, replied and you did not listen to me Ha!!!
fascinating, do keep us posted.
Again, maybe useless idea.....wonder if as they are small, if crows or other got nest from your hedging, tangled in beak and dropped it,or came to ground, tried to get nest off and ,was disturbed, flew off and tipped the eggs out, being on ground they just rolled.Very strange and interesting .
