I was looking back over my old photos when I noticed this (taken at RSPB Minsmere on 24/09/2023). There is a group of black-tailed godwits, with a bar-tailed godwit amongst them, and towards the front of the group there is an entirely white bird. It is
associating with black-tailed godwits, and fits the shape and proportions of them, but it lacks any colour. I haven't seen this condition in these birds before. Do you think that is what is going on here?

Hi, I looked at other photos of black-headed gulls and I'm not so sure that's what is in my photo. Do they not tend to have shorter, redder legs? Or am I just confused :)

the sleeping white bellied bird has medium length legs- HOWEVER the reflection could be mistaken for a longer leg IMHO

The rear of the bird, visible above the duck, has grey wings, black tips, very gull-like.
