You saw the bird in your garden in Dorset for the 1st time on January 8 the exact same as the poster at top of page!

• This shows the details of the number of nesting/ breeding  Redwings  breeding  in parts  of Northern Scotland. The average number of nesting/breeding  Redwings used to be averaging around  20+ pairs per year. But in recent years, the average number of nesting/breeding  pairs of Redwings has gone down as seen  below!

Not sure what that has to do with the identification of a bird in Dorset Ian!

But highly unlikely unless you live in Northern Scotland!

Very true ...But I know it's Highly unlikely they will see a Redwing or Fieldfare outwith Winter anywhere in the UK..even in Northern Scotland!

I'm sure I've twice seen small groups of fieldfare down South in July, one in Norfolk, 2020 and one in Suffolk 2019. Yes, I was surprised too.
