What nocturnal bird could this be?

In the middle of the night I often hear a bird (I assume) but not like anything I’ve heard before. I’ve listened to all the owl sounds and it’s not like that. But it does sound like a hunting bird. I live in Perth Scotland but near farmland, woods and fields. I don’t think it’s a nightjar or nightingale either. I’ll try to get a recording of it
