I was at RSPB Loch Leven today and saw this juvenile bird. At first I thought redstart, but having photographed one recently I noticed the lack of orange on its tail feathers.
As usual, any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

It's strange - seeing some of your posts reminds me of my own lack of confidence. I know considerably more than I used to but I still find myself doubting myself (though that's entirely justified when it comes to warblers!). You frequently get your IDs correct.
Is only from watching and learning and interacting with all yous over the years that's got me this far Clare ....well and my array of garden visitors.....obviously learn more from getting things wrong which I have done many times lol.....warblers are still a pain for me too even though I have them in the garden....blooming juveniles trying to confuse me even more lol
