I'll confess I'm terrible at identifying fungi so it would be most appreciated if someone could tell me what this is:
It was sent to me by a friend who is holidaying in the Black Forest. Something has clearly been nibbling at it so I'm assuming it's not poisonous.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
