Can anyone confirm whether this is an American Wigeon? I wouldn't have known but someone pointed it out to me at RSPB Framton Marsh. Thanks in advance for any help.
Hi its an eclipse/ moulting male Mallard- The AmWig at Frampton has a blue bill and a buffy bald pate ( hence the old name) and is more rufous and less marked on the flanks
Most importantly- AmWigs do not have orange legs ! S
