What are these please?

Seen off the cliffs at Bullers of Buchan in Aberdeenshire.

Am no expert am afraid but they look like Guillemot ..Best wait for someone in the know ;-)

Guillemots have a relatively long slender pointed bill, while the birds in the photo have a shorter fatter bill, and the top bird has a white stripe along the top of the bill.
I'd say they were Razorbills, with the one at the front being a youngster.

I thought the top one looked like a chunkier razor type bill but the one on the left looks more slender and pointed ...you will know better than me though Richard ;-)

Top: razorbill; middle: probable razorbill; bottom: guillemot.

That's what I thought Chris, but the bill on the bottom bird made me think otherwise. I think you are right though, i should have stuck with my original thoughts.

Thanks for clarifying that. Plenty of both on the cliffs. When I took the photo, I thought they would be either Razorbills or Guillemot but had my doubts when I saw the photo.
