Who’s eggs are these? Orange jelly on eggs on water soldier’s in garden wildlife pond

Might be the eggs of pond snails of some kind?

Totally random thought.

There's a (v, rare in the UK) species of dragonfly which is very closely associated with water soldier. Green-eyed hawker/norfolk hawker (Aeshna isoceles/Anaciaeschna isoceles). (Known as the norfolk hawker as it is generally restricted to the most eastern parts of Norfolk, although its range appears to be expanding).

It's association with the plant is that the prey it hunts lay their eggs on water soldier. The dragonfly does as well.

I haven't found images of norfolk hawker eggs/egg clusters/cases. Haven't the foggiest what it hunts.

Possibly too early for the dragonfly to be out-and-about and egg laying. But I'm wondering they are maybe sterile/unhatched eggs or the casings from last year which are undergoing decomposition.

I’m up in East Ayrshire, Scotland so that would really be something if it was a Norfolk Hawker!
I like you cannot find a single photo of their eggs/larvae to see if it is theirs or not, I might get in contact with the uk dragonfly society to see if they have one?
I think the orange jelly lumps have grown slightly in the last couple of weeks, so will definitely keep an eye on them and also keep a close eye to see if I can spot a Norfolk Hawker around.

Might be a good idea to put a couple of leaves & some pond water in a lidded container (airholes in lid) to be sure of seeing what hatches from these eggs in case they hatch & disappear immediately into the pond!
