Hello, I have seen this very close to the summit of Dead Pike (1800ft or so) in Grasmere in the Lake District today.
Crow, or raven, do we think? The bird flew directly over me on the summit and certainly looked large. It was then seen with the remains of somebody's cheese roll maybe 50 or 100 feet away when these photos were taken, before departing shortly afterwards.
I appreciate it may not be possible to say for sure from this but still interested in any thoughts! Thanks

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
