I saw these 2 ducks at Brereton Mere in Cheshire yesterday and they were away from the normal mallards and tufted ducks. Noticeably slim and fast diving - apologies for blurred pics. Any ideas please?

That was my first thought too Cin... But only on small screen at work, plus of course I'm a bit rubbish at ID's

I would agree with Cin & PB, thy very much have the look of Merganser or Goosander and because there looks like they are very pale white I would say Goosander. But the pics are not really clear enough to be certain.
