Hi, in September (ik this post's subject is out of date) We were near Gigrin Farm (Red Kite Feeding Station in Mid Wales), Where we came across a very large bird of prey, Before I was convinced it was a Red Kite, however I looked at the tail, It wasn't forked. I actually do I have a photo of it, (just a little glimpse)

Before you say this is a crane/swan/long necked bird native to the UK. The tail wasn't "acting" as the head.
If this is the bird we are discussing - I've enlarged and edited the details - then I must admit that the tail looks fanned to me, as well as the normal head-bowed posture a Buzzard adopts.
As we're looking left to right the = the tail - the head.
