Hi everyone, i have a lot of house sparrows who make up my local colony and visit every day to eat me out of house and home! This morning i noticed a different looking sparrow feeding on suet balls. I see so many sparrows that i quickly felt it looked different, and seemed to be a little more on its own than the others. Looking through my binocs it was really clear it had a very lovely chestnut brown cap, and also had little square, black cheek patches. I've attached some really poor photos (only had a few secs to use my phone to get these), but i think the cheek patches and brown cap are clear (the photo doesn't do the brown colouration justice). Is this my first tree sparrow tagging along with house sparrows, or maybe just a juvenile house sparrow?
Tree Sparrow ;-)
