Pine siskin?

Hello. I'm hoping someone can help identify this bird. I spotted it at high force, middleton teesdale, UK. I did a Google image search which came back as a pine siskin. I'm just curious as they are American?

That's the trouble with using American based id sites they often default to American birds. Your bird looks like a normal European or Eurasian Siskin to me,usually loads around the feeders at High Force

As Seaman says unfortunately things like Google image, Seek etc have a very strong American bias, it can give strong clues to family group that can help further research. I popped your photo into Obsidentify, which is a European based app and it came through with Eurasian Siskin.

Rule of thumb: first always rule out the most common local birds pertaining to where you are in the world.
