Pupae on rose

Insect pupa/egg identification is not easy.

I did wonder about a moth, but with so many species, I wouldn't know where to start, so hopefully someone a bit more in the know can help.

It might be a hoverfly pupa. Don’t ask which one but Episyrphus balteatus has a similar teardrop thing going on. Good news for your roses, anyway
