Recently I cut down a bamboo cane from a large bush in my garden. Unfortunately, the one I chose contained a very small birds nest which I hadn't seen. It was about 2-3m from the ground, 4.5-5cm in diameter, lined with very soft fluffy white, synthetic material. Some green moss suggested it was fresh. There were no eggs in it, I believe it may have either been abandoned or was destroyed by me before use. I include pictures with a penny inside for comparison. Can anyone identify the bird responsible?
