Linnet?

Question

I saw this bird at a distance on Saturday, my initial thoughts were a Meadow Pipit but looking closer I think it is a female Linnet. Can someone confirm this.

The bird is darkly lit so it's hard to make out details exactly, but from what I can make out I'd say slim shape of bird, tail shape, bird's colouring and eye shape all say female Linnet to me.
