Is This A Raven Or Crow?

Question

I saw a big black bird in my garden earlier. I haven't seen one before and it was bigger than the Jackdaws. After looking at photos on the Internet to identify it I'm still unsure. It didn't make a noise which would have helped. Is it your bog standard crow or a raven? Any help would be appreciated.

I'd say more likely a crow. 
 If I'm wrong, I know someone will correct me.

I agree with Mike. 
 
Its beak doesn't look chunky enough and I can't make out any thick bristle-like feathers around the beak either. 
 
A Raven would be 'huge' in size compared to a large Carrion Crow.

That was my thoughts, along with probabilities.

Here&rsquo;s an example of a Raven. I can&rsquo;t fimd a photo that would help for size though. But size wise they are larger than the rest of the crow family. But With the photo you sent abouve I would say that a crow is most likely aswell

It does not look heavy enough or big enough to be a Raven when compared with the surroundings. A Raven is a large bulky bird comparable maybe to a Buzzard when stood upright and would stand out in a garden, The bristles around the base of the bill and throat and the heavy bill would be visible on views like this

Its not the only reason why I sent the examples but Those are one of the reasons Iv sent some examples. I know a lot about Ravens so I think Exspeacially if the owner of the post hasnt seen one before or doesnt know what they look like they might come in handy. Also The first time I saw the owners photo It didn&rsquo;t really look like a Raven.
