Please can you identify Black and grey bird with red head and white bars underneath

This photo which I think is very close in colour to the one I saw. Its a little bit darker on it's back. Could I have mis-identified  the peregrine? I don't know how different or similar the 2 birds are!

Maybe the reason it looked black is cause of angle or shadow

Brilliant! I think it all fits, and it could definitely be because it was in the shade on the tree. And with the previous visits. There are odd days when my feeder isn't visited for a day or so, so might be that the sparrowhawks are knocking about. It makes sense doesn't it? I would never dream of all this action before I got the feeder. I could hear different birds outside and decided to figure a way to feed them from my window. It's so rewarding and now exciting! 7 or 8 years since I started and I think it could be the best thing I've ever bought! Thanks to everyone that has been helping me, you're brilliant

Sparrowhawks arnt uncommon. But just to make sure I understand with the dive bombing the feeder are you sure it was divebombing the feeder? 

 

Our ;local stuffed bird enthusiast has at least two examples of Sparrowhawk  window strike in his black museum. Both are males and supposedly died of a broken neck So there may be an odd chance that a Hawk may be our missing bird

Are you suspecting the missing bird that has the odd chance of being a hawk might be a Sparrowhawk?

Well I very much doubt if it would be a Goshawk Zo and the conversation was leaning towards Sparrowhawk although as said it is pure conjecture

I know. it was hard to put it in a way that didnt state the obvious.
