mottled fox

Is it a video or is it a photo? Im Just wondering cause  It’s normally more the videos that tends to have problems with file size on the site

Can you take a screen shot of your picture Anthony and try posting that as that will reduce the size dramatically

Thanks to you all it is a photo not a vid. However I took the screen shot on another PC which is not on line. Photographed that and it is that photo that won't send/ The fox of which I have several, is thick coated, normal to hips but back end and tail are heavily mottled white.

Sorry am limited with my knowledge of foxes but I do enjoy having them in the garden...hopefully someone else will be of assistance soon Anthony ;-)

Without a photo, its hard to give any idea what is what. You say its not mange, which was my first, and my only thoughts. Mange can be very commonplace in foxes, especially at this time of year.

As Mike B says, in the absence of a photo it's hard to be certain, but what you describe certainly sounds like mange. The lesions usually start around the base of the tail and around the rump, before spreading as the animal grooms. It sounds as if your fox is in the early stages and could be effectively treated, but the real problem lies in treating the reservoir of infection, This link may help:
