Birds of Prey

I have taken photographs of these birds of prey and am unable to identify them.

Please could you let me know who they are.  Thank you.

  • Thank you Wendy for bumping this up.
I am used to seeing plenty of kestrels, buzzards and sometimes a sparrowhawk, where I live on a farm,
but it would be lovely to know who these birds are, to find out if they are another type of bird of prey.

  • There is a reasonable view of the facial markings when I got decent look at the pics, nice bird to see.

  • Thanks for the identification.
I have another photo that has 3 birds with this facial marking, sitting together on electric poles.
The photos were taken over a two week period.
Wonderful to have seen these birds. Thank you.

  • Wendy -
I couldn't see how to include the photo on my thank you reply.
Do I have to start a new thread?
  • You can use same thread by selecting, “use rich formatting” bottom right.
  • Hi. This was taken as it was getting dark.

I think the bird on the left knew I was trying to hide behind a tree trunk in the next field and discreetly peep around to take a photo!

    Thanks for the IT advice.
