Hello, in Liverpool and wanted to know what species these gulls belonged to as I find it quite hard to differentiate them. I know they’re juvenile since they’re streaked brown but that’s it :)
Thanks
At a guess, juvenile herring gulls, but I'm no expert, and definitely not with gulls.
Looking at the background, for those tying to establish the location, that is Canning Dock & Hartley Quay, Liverpool, with the Liver Building in the background, and my guess, the Maritime Museum behind you.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

I've spent some time around there in the past, an interesting place all in. I intended to make a return visit to see the Liverpool Museum, but someone had other ideas and put me out of action for a good while. I will make a return one day.
The Maritime Museum is well worth a visit.
