Trouble Identifying a bird in my garden

Yes I agree it’s definitely robin shape, it had a very round middle! We also get a song thrush visit us regularly and I wondered if it possibly was one of those perhaps as it was the a similar size and build and also speckled down its front (it’s not very clear in the photos.) I have no idea about birds which is why I posted the question in the first place. After asking a couple of friends who are more clued up than me, one said I’ve never seen a bird like that before and the other suggested the Mediterranean flycatcher ‍♀️

A juvenile robin with pigmentation and growth issues it is

The top picture especially made me wonder about a juvenile Starling with pigmentation issues. I'm really just sharing that as a thought, rather than suggesting it's more likely to be that than a Robin.

I've spent ages looking at this and I think Robbo's suggestion of Robin with pigmentation problems seem good to me. An escaped cage bird could be another option of course.

Yes I think the robin suggestion is a good one but the size confuses me - I know the picture doesn’t do it justice but it was at least double the size of the robins I get in my garden?

As I said previously I know nothing about birds apart from the ones I’ve seen in my garden and the robins who visit my garden are small and the blackbirds are large. This unusual bird was much bigger than a small robin and yes double the size but not as big as the blackbirds I get. I’m not trying to contradict myself and apologies if it came across like that. I simply put the post on as I hadn’t seen this bird before and like I’ve said previously a friend who is a keen bird spotter said she had never seen a bird like this before. I was looking for some help identifying it and thought size might be helpful with this. I didn’t know ‘it’s the first thing that goes out of the window.’ I know one thing and that’s I won’t be posting on here again!
