Morning bird call short “whee!” Sound?

Every morning we hear a bird that we all love and it sounds like a short “wheee” sound. It’s very high pitched and that’s all I can identify.

Some people have said it’s possibly a starling, but I’m yet to find any audio the same from a Starling.

Hi N, Hard to narrow it down to a single possibility but take a listen to a Bullfinch in THIS CLIP and wait to hear the single "wheee" call sound in its song.. (ignore the Chiff-chaff sound in the background) !

Good suggestion by Hazel, but take a listen to this call made by the common Chaffinch - it's the 8th sound file down which is 1:31 in length uploaded by user Irish Wildlife Sounds with the reference number XC623923.

(there is a Crow calling at the very start so ignore that)

Thank you so much for your reply, but this isn’t the same sound I’ve heard. Still a lovely sound though!

The sound is more like of like a rising “whee” it’s quite a quick noise!

Hiya, thank you for the reply also! This is a very nice sound but still not the same. It almost sounds comical a bit like a cartoon sort of noise. It’s hard to explain but a quick “whee!” The “wh” being very fast and the “eee” kind of ascending.

I'm trying to know which lovely bird sings like a funny "wheeee" a long time ago and I don't know yet!!! But your description is exactly to what I hear every morning! I live in Spain, and here I couldn't find any right answer. Did you find the name of the bird??? Thank you in advance!

Tty listening to a Greenfinch's call which has a wheeze in it also do not discount Starlings as they are great imitators

Can you get a recording of it, Carolina, on your phone or something similar. It can be hard to ID a bird call from a descripion. You can post audio clips on here.

Thank you Pete! I was listening some Greenfinch and some Starlings in Internet, thank you because I've learned a lot about the imitations of Starlings, they are great!!! But they are not those who are near my house....

Yes Tony, today I've tried with my mobilephone but afterwards I realized the registration wasn't good enogh to hear anything. Today morning there were to many different birds at the same time! :) I'll try it every morning!!!!

As a matter of interest what part of Spain are you in, Carolina. It might help to narrow down the likely suspect.
