First post!
About six weeks ago I started taking walks to a local nature reserve to help lose weight. Having never really had much of an interest in birds, feeding them a little has now become part of my daily routine and I joined the RSPB.
I'm becoming familiar with the species that frequent my reserve - swans, canada geese, greylag geese, coots, moorhens and various types of duck. I'm not sure about this one though. As far as I can tell, it looks like a cormorant, but the tip of the bill and head markings seem a bit different. Also, Derbyshire seems an odd place to find one!
I'm sure someone here will put me straight :)
