Hi, I saw this pair today on a lake and wasn't sure what they were. Bit bigger than mallard,I thought they might be young shelducks but the beak didn't have the turned up appearance

Looks like another pair whose parentage is in doubt,waterfowl seem to like this,maybe just to keep birders on their toes.

Thanks Seaman-had me stumped,I think a Shelduck had some involvement though! They were very tame,so wondered if they may have been put there
