Hi Seymour
Have you got another 'puzzler' for us? I learn so much from having to think about identification and study detail of birds' features.
No problem if you are very busy.
I hope you are feeling better now.
Cheers

Okay.
Experts seem to be diverted so I'm having a go...
1. Bar-tailed Godwit
2. ???Lesser Whitethroat
(I'm hiding behind a cushion and the Daleks aren't even on!!)
1. Spot on :)
2. Right genus, wrong species...
hi aiki
I would say the second bird is a Titmouse

Do you mean like a Tufted Titmouse? I can see what you're getting at as it looks like it has a crest, but that's just the wind blowing its crown feathers about. Photo was taken in the UK :)
Right genus. Hmmm, so Sylviidae. That means it's a pesky warbler!!!
I'll have to give this some thought.
Off to bed now. It's been an odd day.
See you tomorrow - and thanks, aiki, for two fab 'puzzlers'
Hi aiki
Yes, Tufted Titmouse that is what I mean't though I understand they are USA based birds - the tuft did it for me
So this is a UK bird.
Hmm how about a Garden Warbler due to amount of Grey around its head.

Right, let's see.
Plumage looks quite dark. Tail looks quite full and rounded. Obvious white line over eye.
May I guess at a Cetti's Warbler???
PS another candidate for how to prounounce the name too! how do you pronounce Cetti?

Or it could be a Garden Warbler as I think the legs are too dark for a Cetti
