hi i'm new to this so i hope someone can help me out, i've not got a photo but i hope you can identify this bird by my desciption, well here goes it was in my parents garden in stoke it had a white beak,red head,black ring around it's beak, then a broad white ring around the black ring,then a narrow black ring around the white ring it also had a tan brown colour feathers and it was about 4 inches tall, it was on the feeder in the garden. I hope someone knows what it is as it's driving us mad not knowing. Thank you

I think you are describing a Great Spotted Woodpecker.
They love to sit, and feed of nut feeders.
A pity that you do not have a picture at all.
