Hi, Please could someone advise me if these are song or mistle thrushes. many thanks
Hi daisy123, the birds in your photographs are song thrushes, and lovely they are too!
Hi Thanks for the reply ! I find it very hard to see the difference between them. Many thanks
Lovely photos Daisy123. They seem to be much rarer in gardens in recent years.
Kind regards Jane.
Song Thrushes. The "arrowhead" markings on the breast are pretty clear in both photos. Mistles, which are generally larger and greyer, have big irregular splodges at the front.
Every day a little more irate about bird of prey persecution, and I have a cat - Got a problem with that?

No worries! They can be tricky to tell apart - as John B says, mistle thrushes are larger, greyer, and their spots are less uniform in pattern.
Great pictures Daisy and there is one sitting in the tree outside singing its little head off as I type. Such lovely birds
