Hi all,
Have been trying to get any photo of a Cetti Warbler whilst down at Radipole Weymouth..
Can anyone confirm that this is a Cetti...if not then it's back to sitting in the reeds for a few more hours!
Thanks
Hi Tim
I will say yes it is a Cetti's Warbler.
Firstly well done for getting a picture as this bird are one of the shyest birds, and are hard to see at the best of times. Big voice - invisible body comes to mind.
Your sit out in the reeds paid off. Well done!
The broad spade like tail, chocolate colour, and the creamy coloured supercilium are the giveaway to me.
Regards
Kathy and Dave
Hi Kathy and Dave,
Yipee!
The voice was wonderful...so sat in the reeds and waited and waited until he was in shot, I was so pleased. Very new to photography. Decent camera and lense but very big learning curve particulary when it comes to birds as evasive as this.
Thanks for the confirmation and kind words very much appreciated.
Tim
Well done, Tim. I've heard more than I've seen and never such a good view as that. Their song is unmistakeable - once heard never forgotten. Very good photo of such a shy bird.
Regards TJ

Hi TJ,
Thanks for the compliments. I guess sitting in the reeds did pay off after all.
Thanks again
Good work Tim!
I managed to photograph one of the two singing Cetti's on my local patch last week after a long wait in the reeds, so I know just how you feel :) Here's mine...

Hi aiki
Another super picture of the Cetti's Warbler
It just shows how all the warblers species have their own little personalities and they are all very different to one another.
Well done with the waiting game for your photo.
Hi all
It's nice to see a photo of a cetti. Like TJ I have heard them much more than I've seen them.
Very well captured to both of you.
Best wishes Chris
