Was up in Glen Esk today, spotted this bird that I'm guessing is a buzzard but I'm not 100% sure so I thought I'd ask here just to double check. Size was hard to judge, but it was at least as big as a buzzard but the wings look a bit long to me. I spotted what I assume was the same bird a couple of times somtimes close to the ground and then higher in the sky. Unfortunately none of the photos have any indication of underside colour on them due to the poor light and even through the binoculars I couldn't see any patterns to the underside.

Hi KatTai
From the tail shape and the wings I would say Buzzard.
Best wishes Chris

Hello KatTai,
I'd agree with Chris here. This is a Common Buzzard. But then, my ID "skills" have taken a bit of a hammering recently!

Hi Al
Me too!
As soon as I hear their calls I try to find them in the sky so that I can just watch their graceful soaring.
I can now slightly copy the whistle of the Red Kite, and if he's low enough he sometimes comes and has a closer look at me. :-)
Mickycoop is back in the zone :)))
