For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
Hi John
What about a Curlew Sandpiper Juvenile?

Hi,
it's a slender medium sized wader- with longish tibia. The general look is a tringa and the back and wings are well spotted.
As the legs are pale yellowish, the bill medium length and the supercilium goes beyond the eye it is a Wood Sandpiper .
:)

Do I detect a degree of irritation creeping in re whitethroats/willow warblers etc
Never mind the boring brown wader (just kidding), am I the only one to want to inquire about the geese. Are they juvenile shelduck?
