Hi gingerowl
I'm not very good on waders but it might be a juvenile redshank.
An expert will come along and answer it soon
Best wishes Chris

Nice photos, gingerowl. At first I thought there were two birds there until I realised that the photos had almost joined into one. LOL

Seymour the expert came along while I was typing.
I thought possibly juvenile because the beak looks more yellowish than red and I couldn't see the legs. However, I'm really pleased that I was in the right ballpark!
Yep, and adult redshank - more information here: http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/r/redshank/index.aspx#

I have been looking at some photos and think this looks more like a spotted redshank rather than a normal redshank - nice pictures

I have a photo of a winter plumage spotted redshank in my gallery on this site - Common redshank is browner especially in summer plumage and has proportionately shorter legs, especially above the 'knee' .
The Common Redshank in the queried photo shows blackish markings on the back and tertials- it is moulting into Summer plumage :)
