To me, it is a member of the Thrush family whatever the bird is!!

DOH !!! I noticed that so thought it was thrush like, didn't realise there was grey on it, looked all brown to me, well done though Anabanana and Buzzard.

I homed right in on the chevrons the second I saw it, and the colour of the bill. It screamed "FIELDFARE!!!!" at me, just like the one in my garden this winter - I knew all that snow would turn out to be good for something! :)
