Saw these two birds on the feeder tray and I am unsure as to what they are. Would appreciate help
Of all creatures, man is the most detestable, he is the only creature that inflicts pain for sport, knowing it to be pain. ~ Mark Twain
Hi Birdwatcher, that's a great photo. At first glance I thought they were female house sparrows but my book only shows the light stripe above the eye and not the one running below the eye from the beak down to the neck so it might be best to wait for someone who is sure before categorically putting a name to them.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!

Hi Birdwatcher,
the birds in your photo are indeed ReedBuntings.
As mentioned in other posts ideally at this time of year to enable accurate sexing the birds would need to be in the hand.
The pair in your photo do have characteristics of female birds!
If the males haven't started to get the black heads, they can be wrongly sexed as females!
Hope this helps regards Buzzard

I can't see your photos either, but it sounds like they are reed buntings, so congratulations!
Cheers, Linda.
