Hi all,
As you were all very helpful last time I thought you may be able to help me identify / confirm what I saw on a couple of recent trips to Rutland Water (I will put my thoughts underneath but please don't be too hard on me if I am barking up completely the wrong tree!)
Snipe???
Stint??
No idea (they look like the Snipe but it was a different day and I am sure they were bigger from memory but I may be mistaken!)
I also managed to catch a tree sparrow this time on the feeders at the Egleton reserve entrance!!
Thanks in advance for any help - hopefully this will increase my tally for 2010!
Nick
I cannot see the pictures I'm afraid.
I've learned that I still have a lot to learn...

Hi Nick
I had a little problem seeing your pictures but I see them now.
I would say that you are correct in all your ID's
The Snipe pictures,.. to me there is not another Snipe lookalike in the Waders groups
There is a Jack Snipe but it has a much shorter bill in comprison with its body.
Regards
Kathy and Dave
