Powerful bill with hint of red towards head. I'd say one of the Godwits. From streaky back I'd go for Bar-tailed Godwit..

I'll go for Whimbrel again.
There is a sufficiency in the world for man's need but not for man's greed.
I will go for a Bar Tailed Godwit due to the length of the legs in comparison to the body along with the length of the bill. The bill looks straight.
Black Tailed Godwits have longer legs in comparison with their bodies.

oh, it's knees aren't in the water, is that what you mean.
Does that mean he is standing up to his knees in mud - so there a length of leg hidden from view?

Hi Blackbird, this ones hard, if you look at his left leg his knee is just under his bum, just his feet in the water.
or is it the colour we're supposed to be looking at.
