This little chap/chapess landed on my sunflower heart feeder earlier. Have I got a brand new visitor? Is it a greenfinch? He arrived all on his own. No friends or cousins.
Cheers, Linda.

Have you posted a photo Sparrow? If so I'm not seeing it - not even a box with a red cross.

Hi TJ,
I did post the photo. I can see a red cross. I have edited it and downloaded it again. This is getting stupid.

Whoopee, I can see it. Better post quickly before it disappears again.
Yes, it's definitely a Greenfinch - a male I think although I can't make it out clearly. Well done . Is that another first for you? They all must have heard about your new camera.
Hi
I can see this pic but not some on other threads
well done looks like a greenfinch to me.
Smashing little greenfinch. I think you are paying them to come !!

Thanks TJ and Wagtail (and Mrs. T). I am delighted.
I did have a greenfinch way back in August, but the poor thing was very poorly, suffering from trichonomiasis. He had all the nasty symptoms and was very tame. He sat on my foot in the garden, looking straight at me, almost pleading for help. I reported it of course, and did all the disinfecting etc. I haven't had one since, so am really pleased to see a healthy one in the garden.
Hi Birdwatcher,
LOL - you guessed!
You are being so lucky at the moment. You have a wide range of finches now. They must be passing on your address by word of beak! LOL
I've learned that I still have a lot to learn...

Hi Sparrow, good job you held onto those smelling salts, how exciting, all these new visitors. Are all your recent arrivals with you still.

LOL Bishy, I was too busy taking photos because I wasn't 100% sure it was a greenfinch!
I have just mentioned on another thread that I seem to be attracting finches - Miss Redpoll, Mr. and Mrs. Siskin, Mr. and Mrs. Chaffinch, and of course my charm of goldies who come every day and stay most of the day. Now a greenfinch to add to the collection. Sadly, only the goldies stay faithful. The redpoll hasn't been back at all, the siskins haven't been back this week, and the chaffies haven't been today. Maybe there is something wrong with my sunflower hearts!
