I was down at the pond yesterday and spotted this at the far side stood on a rock, I thought it could be a dipper but when I looked in the books I don't think it is.
Sorry about the quality.
Plus could you tell me which thrush this is
Shelley
Hi Shelley
You were right it's not a Dipper, it's a Common Sandpiper. The white gap where the wing meets the body is a very useful feature to identify this bird from other sandpipers. They also do a lot of bobbing up and down.
Your thrush is a Song Thrush. Note the arrowhead markings on the upper breast.

Thanks TJ carried on looking in the books and thought it was a common sandpiper.
Agree with TJ Common Sandpiper and Song Thrush, the repetitive song is often a good pointer for the Song Thrush.
