Hygiene and paving stones

I need advice cleaning the paving stone area under my feeders which gets soiled with droppings and seeds/husks. The RSPB pages advises droppings to be cleared and burnt, the ground to be cleansed with weak disinfectant. I cannot burn the droppings and these have been disposed in the green bin. Is this wrong? I have been sweeping the ground removing as much husk, seed and faeces as possible, scrubbing it with bleach based cleaners diluted with water, and finally rinsing it with water. I have an issue since I cannot reach all the seeds fallen in between the crevices, and this are still within bird's reach the next day. I am concerned they will eat any seed that has been in contact with these cleaners, and the effect of using such harsh products in the garden. Thanks!
