I have been using the Gardman No Mess seed mix (which I had also assumed was no grow) and liberally chucking it all around the garden for the last couple of months.I now have seeds sprouting all over the place, its a nightmare!!!
I have heard that you can treat seed by cooking in the oven, has anyone done this and does it work?
I have made up my own no grow mix (peanut granules, suet pellets, mealworms etc.) for the ground feeders but liked the seed mix for the hanging feeders.

It's not always easy to hug a hedgehog.
But that doesn't mean you shouldn't.
Hi Rachel,
The advice I have heard is to put the seed in a microwavable bowl and zap it on high for a minute or so. This is supposed to sterilise the seed without cooking it or drying it out, like putting it in the oven might do. I will stress however I have not tested this myself, it is entirely hearsay. Maybe you can try it out and let us know what happens?
