Robins

I have at last managed to get a robin on my dog walk in the woods to feed from my hand. Wonderful experience.
  • Hi Janete. It is a truly wonderful experience isn't it? Magical.

  • I love seeing them in the garden. My resident robins have learnt to take sunflower seeds from the feeder.

I can only imagine how wonderful it felt for you to experience hand feeding.

  • Hi Janete, as the others have said it is a wonderful experience when a wild bird is trusting enough to eat from your hand back in late 2013 my wife and I went to Hyde Park in London. The birds there are very trusting and we had Ferel Pigeons, Ring Necked Parakeets, Great Tits, Blue Tits, Chaffinches feeding from our hand then this lovely little Robin which had a particular liking for my wifes hand, well the food in it anyway, it really made her day.

  • It’s a very nice feeling when a wild bird will land on your hand and feed from it, shame not everyone has had the experience.
