Hi everyone , I am sorry if this has been asked before but has anyone used the cat scarers that are a silhouette cat shape with reflective eyes and if so do they stop birds from visiting as well? I'm so sick of cats coming into the garden they live next door to me and I have a very high hedge but they find gaps to get through. This is the last try (along with lion poo) before fitting chicken wire the whole length of garden which is going to cost a lot of money. I have looked at the repeller that gives out sound to deter them but I have a dog and think he would be affected by this. He's a greyhound and will chase anything but cat escapes through the hedge and to be honest I don't let him out after the cat as he could catch it and kill it. We have two huge water pistols that we have got cats with a few times but they keep coming back. I have spoken to my neighbour about the danger to her cat if it gets in my garden but she's not interested. She said "oops" when I told her that her (politely) her cats had been killing birds in my garden. I know from this website that nor all cat owners are like this!
Try the Catwatch Ultrasonic cat deterrent, which is the only cat deterrent that the RSPB recommends and it was on sale on the RSPB Online Shop, which is where I bought that item. I don't know whether the RSPB Online Shop is still selling that item.
Regards,
Ian.
I've just checked and that item is still available to buy from RSPB Online Shop.
